United Way’s work is focused on three priorities that lead to a good life.

Funding will be provided for programs that impact the work in one or more of our three priorities: Education & Youth Development, Health & Wellness and Economic Independence.

1. EDUCATION & YOUTH DEVELOPMENT:
Helping children and youth achieve their potential
  • Readiness to succeed in school
  • Academic Achievement
  • Productive and engaged young people
-  Target populations include those from prenatal through age 18

2. HEALTH & WELLNESS:
Improving people’s health
  • Basic health coverage and prevention
  • Maternal and infant well being
-  Target populations include individuals under or uninsured, youth health and high risk health issues

3. ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE: Promoting financial stability
  • Increase income
  • Building savings
  • Gain and sustain assets
  • Financial stability

-  Target population includes individuals with limitations to literacy, skill set development and job related issues such as transportation, child care, etc.

In addition, United Way realizes the importance of funding basic human needs.  We will continue to support families and neighborhoods with programs that provide food, clothing, shelter and other basic necessities of life.
