United Way's Women's Legacy Council was founded to mobilize women to become powerful philanthropists through leadership, fundraising and advocacy by:

• Educating women about philanthropic involvement and leadership, defined in the broadest terms as investing time, talent and treasure in the issues they care most about.
• Engaging more women in the work of United Way to transform our regional community.
  
  Each member contributes at the leadership level, $1,200 or more to the United Way.  All women donors giving at this level or higher are welcomed as members of the Women's Legacy Council.
