Created and led by women, United Way of the Coastal Empire’s WOMEN UNITED® engages and inspires local women leaders to help low-income women in our community. By leveraging their skills, relationships, and resources in support of United Way, WOMEN UNITED® members make a profound difference in the lives of women and their families.
in 2018, the WOMEN UNITED® transportation fund provided:
to local, low-income women who needed to find or get to work as a single mom, to medical appointments for themselves or sick children, to access food pantries, and for many other reasons.
WOMEN UNITED® members are dedicated to removing transportation barriers that face low-income women by financially providing the critical support of giving $1,200 or more annually to United Way. The transportation fund provides access to dependable means of transportation (such as gas cards, car repairs, bus passes, travel fares, etc.) and leads low-income women to help themselves, support their families, and improve their livelihoods.
