Stacy Jennings serves as the Executive Director of Communications for the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education. Prior to her current role, Stacy served as Director of Marketing at the Savannah Morning News/Savannah Evening Press. She holds a BA in English from the Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University. Since moving to Savannah in 1985, she has been an active community member, serving on numerous boards and committees.
For more than 33 years, Stacy has been a dedicated United Way of the Coastal Empire supporter, serving on the Board of Directors, Marketing Committee (Marketing Chair), Campaign Cabinet, and as a Loaned Executive. She currently serves on the Marketing Committee and has for decades.
In addition to her United Way service, Stacy served on numerous boards including YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Susan G. Komen of Coastal Georgia, March of Dimes of Savannah, Rape Crisis Center, Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club, Greater Savannah Sports Council, American Advertising Federation/Savannah, AAF-7th District, Leadership Savannah, and St. John’s Church. She is a proud graduate of the Leadership Savannah Class of 1996, and has received several awards over the years including the Helen V. Head Small Business Advocate of the Year in 2005 from the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way Volunteer of the Year in 2016, American Advertising Federation Silver Medal, Hadley B. Cammack Award for service to the advertising industry, and the STAR Award from Savannah Technical College.
Stacy lives in Savannah with her husband, Richard “Skip” Jennings, where they attend St. John’s Episcopal Church and enjoy the good life in Coastal Georgia. They have two amazing adult daughters and sons-in-love, Nolan and Will Balkcom and Alex and Zack Landen.
