In 2018, she was recognized by the American Academy of Physician Assistants as a Distinguished Fellow. She has 20 years of experience in healthcare. She has also proved to be an effective fundraiser for a variety of causes including United Way and has served on the Downtown Development Authority for the City of Richmond Hill.

Mia also serves as the Director of G100Savannah, “The Throwback Station,” owned by Dick Broadcasting Company. Additionally, her roles include Public Service Director, Radio Personality, Producer of the Latin Lunch, and Podcast Producer. Connect Savannah has recognized Mia as the 2021 “Best Local Radio Personality.” She was also recognized by Georgia Broadcasters for “Radio Station of the Year,” “Radio Personality of the Year,” and a merit award for a Georgia voter education production. Mia was named Savannah Magazine’s 2020 “New Guard” and previously was named a Junior League of Savannah “Volunteer of the Year.”

Dr. Fran Witt confronts the challenges facing rural hospitals, which were compounded by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The national publication “Modern Healthcare” has named her to its “50 Most Influential Clinical Executives” and “20 Top Diversity Leaders” in the United States. A registered nurse by background, she went on to earn both an MBA and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. She spent 17 years in key leadership roles at Grady Health System in Atlanta and also worked with several hospitals and long-term care facilities in Florida and Chicago. She serves on the American Hospital Association’s Rural Health Services Committee, as well as several statewide Georgia hospital and healthcare boards. Locally, she is Vice President and Incoming Chair of the Effingham Chamber of Commerce.
