SAVANNAH, GA (November 28, 2024) – United Way of the Coastal Empire’s 16th Annual Turkey Trot presented by SouthCoast Health, was another sellout event, raising a record-breaking $50,000 for the United Way Community Fund. The event attracted 1800 walkers and runners to Daffin Park on Thanksgiving morning, the largest number of participants in the organization’s history. This annual race brought in participants from around the area, across more than 35 states, and as far as New Zealand. The Thanksgiving festivities kicked off with the Kids K and Diaper Dash and ended with the 4-mile Run/Walk.
As part of the annual tradition, many participants came dressed in Thanksgiving-themed costumes for the costume contest. The 4-mile Run/Walk race route began in Daffin Park, looped through the beautiful Ardsley Park neighborhood, and ended back at the park, where the post-race awards ceremony took place.
