Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA), in partnership with the Economic Opportunity Authority (EOA), International Paper, Home Depot, Georgia Office of the Insurance Commissioner and WTOC have put together 1,500 emergency kits to give away to Chatham County residents over two days in June. For the last 25 years we have hosted a Hurricane Expo in the Home Depot parking lot. This year, because of COVID, we shifted our strategy and will be doing a no touch drive-thru give away instead! Please join us in helping distribute these buckets to those that need them most this hurricane season.

Set up begins promptly at 6:30 AM at the Economic Opportunity Authority- 618 Anderson St. in Savannah. Volunteers should enter the EOA from Anderson St and avoid the May St. entrance as it will be blocked off to form a line for early arrivals. Masks are required for our volunteers and social distancing should be easy as this event will take place outside! Snacks will be provided!

Volunteer opportunities: We will need greeters, bucket distributors, bucket stockers, traffic controllers, walk-up distributors and vehicle counters!
